I reccy'd it on Saturday evening from the east (Dunglass/Bilsdean) but chickened out just before I got to one set of arches as the tide was coming in.

Returned again on the Sunday afternoon, this time from Thorntonloch, and went right through to Bilsdean then back over the John Muir way.

There was a safe place to stand on the set nearest Bilsdean (east of the Standalane) but the two problems I found was you'd have to get there well before high tide - which mean waiting around for a few hours before and after. Second problem was the camera angle from the "safe spot" was looking north east which is less than optimum for a sunrise...

I did however find an amazing rock formations which are easily accessed at low tide. The sandstone rocks are sculpted into amazing shapes by the water. This is a definite opportunity when the timing is right with the tide/sun.
